A strange TV series that will turn your mind upside-down.
The Netflix original series Stranger Things features a group of young friends who witness supernatural forces and undercover government operations in 1980s Indiana. The kids solve a number of extraordinary mysteries as they seek answers.
Matt Duffer, Ross Duffer, Jessie Nickson-Lopez, and other authors contributed to the Stranger Things television series, which won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. Stranger Things' themes of horror, fiction, thriller, drama, supernatural, mystery, and costume drama create a sense of suspense and intrigue.
Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Gaten Matarazzo, Joe Keery, and David Harbour all play the primary characters in Stranger Things. Stranger Things was released on July 15, 2016, and has four seasons.
At the very beginning, Eleven convinces the boys to trust her to find Will Byers, who is being hunted by the Demogorgon. Joyce believes Will is communicating through light bulbs, and Hopper discovers Brenner's involvement with Project MKUltra.
Eleven uses Mike's walkie-talkie to prove Will is still alive, and the boys think that Eleven might be able to contact Will using a ham radio. They follow their compasses to find a gate that could interfere with the earth's electromagnetic field, and Eleven uses a sensory deprivation tank to draw the Demogorgon to the Byers' home, killing them. Will is found on the upside down.
In season two, Will starts having hallucinations of the Upside Down and the "Mind Flayer".After that Will starts to scribble on paper with crayons Hopper and Joyce figure out that the scribbles match, but scientists set tunnels on fire.
Will collapses and screams in agony, and Owens reveals that the shadow monster is a virus that has spread to Will's brain and is controlling him. Jonathan and Joyce heat up Will to get Mind Flayer out of his body, while Eleven closes the portal to upside down.
In season three, the Soviet scientists attempt to open a new gate to the Upside Down, causing the Mind Flayer to gain power and Dustin and Steve find out about the plan Eleven uses her powers to spy on Billy and finds him suspicious, Joyce and Hopper capture a non-English speaking scientist, while Steve, Robin, and Dustin sneak into the Russian lab.
In the end, Hopper dies in the process of halting the machine used for opening the gate. After Billy attacks Eleven, she reminds him of his mother and his memories with her, freeing him from Mind Flayer's control and killing him.
Joyce relocates to California with eleven, Will, and Jonathan, where Eleven is ridiculed at school. Meanwhile, some odd murders are going on in Hawkins, evidence is showing Eddie Munson did those but actually were done by "Vecna".
On the other hand, Eleven is taken by Owen who's gonna help her to get back her power and after a lot of training she eventually gets her power back and goes on her way to kill “Vecna”.
Eleven remembers that Vecna is someone whom she sent to upside down by using her power and now he wants to kill her for revenge. To defeat Vecna Maxine decides to sacrifice herself and others go upside down to burn Vecna while Eleven and Maxine are distracting him and they succeed in doing that.
After coming back to Hawkins all of them see that the ground of Hawkins cracked connecting the places where the murders took place and lava and smoke are coming out of those. This is the end of season four.
In my opinion, the show handles and connects all its ideas throughout the seasons in a coherent manner, leading to an all-connected grand season finale. Although, the plot strays away a bit with the inclusion of the Soviet invasion which seems like it is added to the plot coercively otherwise all the other ideas completely complement each other. The characters are all written well and get a fair share of screen time which adds to their character depth and creates a connection with the viewers. So, the show is perfect for quality time spending while constantly putting our brains to use to decipher all the complex plots simultaneously.
